DropBox Inc. recently completed a custom project that will be shipping to Halliburton in Pasadena, Texas in the upcoming days. Halliburton was founded over a century ago, in 1919, and is a leading provider of products and services for the energy industry. They serve major, national, and independent oil and natural gas companies globally. Operations derived from this company span over 70 countries.
The custom unit that our team created for Halliburton is a 40’ Modular Dry Lab. This type of lab is typically used for analytical and research purposes, and is usually equipped with electronics, dry materials that are required to be stored, and large instruments. Computational or applied mathematics can also be performed in dry labs, while this is not typically possible in a wet lab environment. In most cases, an initial analysis takes place in a dry lab – prior to a wet lab being necessary. This saves time, resources, and money for the company.
As with both standard and customizable models of DropBox Inc.’s modular labs, this custom unit includes large, durable counter tops, cabinetry for storage, a sanitary station, and a laboratory fume hood used to remove chemical gasses. This unit also comes equipped with a HVAC system to provide a climate-controlled area, which is essential in various laboratory settings.
This customer modified the unit by selecting an acid storage cabinet that was placed beneath the fume hood. They also selected the eyewash option to go with the sanitary station. Each 4’ module is customizable, which allows the customer to choose which cabinets, sink options, fume hood, and base cabinet they’d like in each location.
We are excited to see how this addition will improve productivity at Halliburton!
