PSG helps local food banks, one sweet potato at a time!
At PSG, we don’t just build solutions for job sites; we’re also passionate about building stronger communities. This October, our team of volunteers traveled from Eastern Kentucky to join the “Big Dig” in Philipstown, New York. Stacey Farley, owner and operator of Davoren Farm, hosted this event at a nearby town-owned plot of land. Stacey believes in using the land to support the community. The event is a shining example of sustainable farming and focuses on harvesting sweet potatoes for donation to local food banks.
The Big Dig brought together 120 volunteers, all working to dig up nearly 20,000 pounds of sweet potatoes. Our team, along with the other volunteers, spent the day harvesting the vegetables, filling baskets, and preparing them for distribution to local food banks. There was a sense of purpose in the air as everyone worked together, knowing their efforts would provide fresh, healthy produce to families in need.
Rob Slagel, CEO of PSG, reflected on the experience: “It was an honor for our team to take part in the Big Dig. This event showcases the power of collective effort and how it can directly impact families who need it most. We’re proud to support the important work Stacey Farley is doing at Davoren Farm and to be a part of such an inspiring initiative.”
